First opened in 1986, Atalaya´s Old Course is one of the finest courses on the Costa del Sol. The wide generous fairways undulate gently between mature trees and flowering shrubs providing shade and all year colour. The frequently elevated greens can make club selection interesting and their subtle contours need careful judgement to sink those all-important putts.

The Old Course was designed by Bernard von Limburger, one of Germany´s foremost golf course architects, responsible for 74 European courses. Building on this heritage, we manage a multi-year investment strategy to maintain and improve the presentation and playability of the Old Course. Each year Atalaya hosts a number of professional tournaments, whilst always offering a fair test of golf for players of all levels. Many tournaments have been played at Alcaidesa Links, such as 2 PGA of Andalusia, in 1993 and 1994, 1 PGA of Spain in 1995, The Ryder Cup Junior Match U.S. against Europe in 1997.
